Fax on Device module
This module is used to perform scanning (of the fax document) on the device. The scanned file is stored by the DeviceService in the TIFF format in the WorkflowFiles directory (see also Storage locations).

The module may occur only once in the workflow.

The transfer protocol allows you to set the transfer protocol for transferring the scan from the device to the server (default: SMB). With some device manufacturers, encrypted transmission of the scan file from the device to the server is only possible using FTP encryption, see also Encrypted scanning.

The DeviceService is responsible for the communication with the devices. It also generates page contents displayed on the device (visible interface of the Embedded Client). In addition, it carries out the licensing of the system and requires Internet access for online licensing. Its log file is Logs\DeviceService.log.
In the case of devices for which the required device functions cannot be controlled from the software, the corresponding device-specific dialog opens instead of the IQ4docs dialog itself.
